Sr. Technical Consultant

FULL-TIME HYBRID AEROSPACE & DEFENSE HIRE

Are you an engineering-minded consultant who loves diving into messy infrastructures, building what doesn’t exist, and helping clients navigate mission-critical transformations? If so, read on!

Location & Work Mode

  • Hybrid — based in or near one of our hub cities (Portland, Seattle, Austin, Bay Area, SoCal, Chicago, St. Louis, New York, or NCR/D.C. metro), with periodic visits to that hub. Expect additional periodic travel to client and company sites, including controlled or secure facilities.

What You’ll Own

  • End-to-end engagement leadership — owning discovery, architecture, configuration, migration, rollout, adoption, and post-go-live support across the most complex IFS engagements in maritime and aerospace & defense
  • IFS Cloud transformation — leading IFS Applications 10 to IFS Cloud upgrade engagements end-to-end, from version-gap analysis through cutover and hypercare, deciding what to retire, re-platform, or rebuild
  • Solution architecture — architecting solutions across MRO and asset management, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and projects, and embedding ITAR, DFARS, and compliance requirements into the design
  • Executive advisory — serving as senior trusted advisor across the engagement, often reporting into the customer’s CIO, and advising their steering committee on status, risk, and key decisions
  • Delivery leadership — owning delivery performance across multiple engagements against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and margin, and mentoring the consultants and specialists around you
  • Pursuit & practice growth — partnering with Sales during pre-sales discovery and proposals, carrying a sales-attribution target, and helping establish and grow Oxalis’ IFS practice

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years leading IFS upgrade and migration engagements, including IFS Applications 10 to IFS Cloud, ideally within a 10+ year ERP delivery career
  • Demonstrated delivery within U.S. aerospace and defense customers, with fluency in maritime and A&D operating models (MRO, project-based manufacturing, complex supply chains)
  • Multiple IFS Certified Practitioner (IFS Cloud) credentials, with Asset Management and Manufacturing as leading areas, plus coverage of Supply Chain, Financials, and Projects
  • Working knowledge of security and compliance in regulated defense environments, including FIPS 140-2/140-3, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, and DFARS 252.204-7012
  • Proven experience partnering with IFS Customer Success, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders on complex programs
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple engagements without dropping quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a track record of engaging executive and technical stakeholders
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62) — U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. An active security clearance is preferred but not required.
  • Nice to have: IFS Certified Practitioner – Technical Consultant or Technician credentials; progress toward IFS Certified Expert level; prior IFS Applications 10 or legacy IFS credentials; PMP certification; Prosci/ADKAR change management certification; familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, or DoD Impact Levels (IL2/IL4/IL5); and experience mentoring consultants on delivery and craft.

Why This Role Matters

  • You’ll lead the most complex IFS Cloud transformations in an industry where getting it right protects critical missions
  • Direct, senior-level trust from customer CIOs and steering committees — not a supporting role
  • A rare chance to help stand up and shape an entire practice area within Oxalis from the ground up
