Sr. Atlassian Technical Consultant

FULL-TIME HYBRID ATLASSIAN MIGRATION HIRE

You’re the engineer who builds what off-the-shelf tools can’t, reverse-engineers what’s broken, and gets enterprise clients through their toughest Atlassian migrations. At Oxalis, that’s exactly who we need.

Location & Work Mode

  • Hybrid — based near one of our hub locations (Portland, Seattle, Austin, Bay Area, SoCal, Chicago, St. Louis, New York, or NCR/D.C. metro), with periodic on-site days at that hub.

What You’ll Own

  • Technical execution — identifying and resolving blockers across every phase of migration, from pre-migration assessment through post-cutover stabilization
  • Infrastructure engineering — Windows and Linux systems administration, SSH-based remote management, and troubleshooting across hybrid and cloud environments
  • Scripting & automation — building tooling in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to support migration validation, data cleanup, and reusable delivery accelerators
  • Data & integrations — using REST and GraphQL APIs and strong SQL skills to validate data integrity and build or replace integrations, including cloud-native patterns like webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven architectures
  • Atlassian platform & migration — designing phased migrations, test migrations, cutover strategies, and rollback plans, working alongside JCMA and CCMA tooling and closing gaps where native capabilities fall short
  • Stakeholder communication — translating technical decisions and tradeoffs into clear, actionable guidance for both technical teams and business leaders
  • Pre-sales & practice growth — contributing to migration assessments, estimates, and proposals, and helping build out Oxalis’ methodologies and internal knowledge base

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on technical experience in enterprise environments, including 3+ years in client-facing consulting
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows systems administration, with hands-on SSH and remote infrastructure experience
  • Working experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, plus strong SQL skills for validating data integrity
  • Real scripting or programming experience in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a comparable language — not just modifying samples
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Nice to have: hands-on Atlassian administration (Jira, Confluence, JSM), exposure to JCMA/CCMA migrations, Atlassian certifications, IAM experience (SSO, SAML, SCIM), or background in regulated industries like public sector, healthcare, or aerospace and defense.

Why This Role Matters

  • You solve the problems off-the-shelf tooling can’t — building real solutions where none exist
  • Your technical credibility earns you a seat as trusted advisor to client stakeholders, not just an implementer
  • You get hands-on exposure to complex Atlassian Cloud migrations across some of the most mission-critical, compliance-heavy industries around
