Sales and Marketing Lead


We are looking for an experienced professional that can help our rapidly growing Tech start-up get the sales and marketing engine going.  Our growth has been fueled by referrals up until this point, and we are ready to take the business to the next level.   This position is ideal for a candidate who would love to own and build this capability from the ground up and really play a critical part in growing the business.  We are open to various levels of experience as it is more important to find the right personality for the role and the right fit for our team.  This role could be part-time or full-time, but likely contract to hire; this can be based out of our Portland, OR office, Washington, DC office, or remote.

  • A Jack/Jill of all marketing trades; passionate about the growth it can unleash
  • Excited about digital tools and actively engages online on a regular basis
  • Technically strong and able to understand both the digital technology that we sell/service as well as digital marketing tools required to drive growth
  • A doer – someone who is comfortable with progress over perfection and is willing to test approaches to identify the best fit
  • Hyper self-driven and has the ability to spur actions to achieve organizational goals without prodding
  • Genuinely interested in solving problems internally and for customers
  • Well versed in targeted SEO practices, Campaign tools (HubSpot, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and Paid Ads, other), content generation (pillar blogs, backlink strategy)


  • Devise marketing campaigns targeted at our primary services and targeted industries
  • Utilize the ZoomInfo to create custom audiences based on our primary industries services
  • Utilize multiple lead magnets and content strategies to devise the best return on investment for Oxalis
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns on a set cadence of no less than a campaign every 3 weeks
  • Develop and execute a content calendar, and generate content, maintaining a steady stream of LinkedIn and Twitter publications
  • Create quantifiable reporting metrics on the effectiveness of various marketing efforts
  • Devise the process to convert to Sales Qualified for direct sales outreach and return to MQL for targeting; this is commonly a points-based system based on target actions across our platforms
  • Define and report aggregate performance measures to senior leadership on a regular cadence
  • Utilize Zift (provided by Atlassian) to conduct campaigns, devise campaigns on Hubspot and Mailchimp, craft content for conversion
  • Support first call or email outreach to newly qualified SQL leads; line up further conversations for sales conversion or directly convert the sale if possible and appropriate
